Provide a platform for people to capture their family trees.

Enable family members to capture the history of the families, the type of people, traits and skills their families possessed. Enable to capture the individuals that caused grief and happiness in the family, and what led to that or the circumstances around it.

Provide legacy for their kids.

Enable the kids to have access to family structures, and other individuals who played a pivotal role to the success of the family, this may include neighbors and friends.

Empower your kids.

History empowers those who benefited from it. It provides a sense of belonging. It has a great contribution to the self-esteem and success of future generation. This platform provides that service at the family level. A success of a family contributes to a success of a community, and in turn, the success of a community contributes to the success of the country. We will start moving forward as a people instead of re-inventing the wheel or repeating historical mistakes.

Research and Development.

To keep this service running efficiently and relevant, research will be done to new emerging technologies, and further see if they can be used to benefit the future generation. The infrastructure maybe operated or controlled by us or our affiliates.



Your Commitment to us and our community

We provide these services to you and others to help advance our mission. In exchange, we need you to make the following commitments:

  • Who can use our service?

    Anyone who wishes to use our service for its intended purpose, without infringing on other people privacy. Anyone who is not in violation of the law of South Africa. Due to the nature and the privacy levels we are targeting, anyone of any age is allowed to use this service, however parents are responsible for managing what their kids do or have access to within this service.

  • What can you do or share.

    We want people to be free to share as much as they wish about their families for future generation. With that being said, what is shared should not be at an expense of safety and well-being of the others. We can remove content you posted in violation of provisions provided. We may also disable your account if you repeatedly infringe other rights. We encourage the community to report any posts or content in violation of terms of service or your rights. By using this service you therefore agree not to engage in:

    • Any activities that violates our Terms and conditions, and our service standards.

    • Any activities of posts that infringes or violates someone else’s rights.

    • You may not upload viruses, malicious code or do anything that could disable, overburden and/or impair the proper working or appearance of our service or product.

    • You may not access or collect data from our service using automated means or attempt to access data you don’t have permission to, unless otherwise prior permission is provided.

  • Permission you are giving us.

    To update the service, provide upgrades and updates, and additional features to improve, enhance or further develop this service. Any personal information you share in our website is protected by the POPI act of South Africa. This means we cannot share your personal information. However, by using our service, you are giving us the permission to use your information collectively to store, interpret and provide stats using your information. You can end our agreement with you anytime by deleting your content or account. Please note that, for technical reasons, your content may persist in our backup copies for a limited time, although it might not be visible to other users. In some instances, the profile you created, after deleting it, might continue to be visible to the other users who are connected to it if they haven’t deleted it yet.

  • Limits on using our intellectual property.

    If you use content covered by intellectual property rights that we have and make available in our products e.g. images, icons, designs, etc to add to content you create on our service, we retain all rights to that content (but not your content). You can only use our copyright or trademarks as expressly by our brand usage guideline or with our prior written permission. You must obtain written permission to modify, create derivative works, decompile or otherwise attempt to extract source code from us.

  • Additional Provisions:
    • Updating our terms.

      We are constantly working on improving our service and adding new features to make our product better for you and all other users. With that being said, we may need to update our Terms from time to time to accurately reflect our services and practices. Unless otherwise required by the law, we will notify you before we make changes to these Terms, and give you an opportunity to review them before they go into effect. Once any updated Terms are in effect, you will be bound by them if you continue to use our service. If you do not agree to our updated Terms and no longer want to be part of the our community, you can delete your profile or account anytime.

    • Account suspension or termination

      We want our service to be available everyone, and have everyone to have a great experience and accomplish their goal while using our service. If we determine that you have violated our terms or policies, we may action against your account to protect our service and other users of this service, by suspending access to your account or disabling it. We may suspend or disable your account if you create risks or legal exposures for us, or when we are required to do so by the law. Where appropriate, we will notify you about your account the next time you try to access it. If you however, delete or we disable your account, these Terms shall terminate as an agreement between you and us, but the provision 3, 5b- 5e will remain in place.

    • Limits on Liability.

      We work hard to provide the best products and services as we can and to specify the clear guidelines for everyone who uses them. Our services and products, are provided “as is”, and we make no guarantees that they will always be safe, secure, or error-free, or that they will function without disruptions, delays or imperfections. To the extent permitted by the law, we also disclaim all warranties, whether expressed or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. We do not control or direct what people and others do or say, and we are not responsible for their actions or conduct(whether online or offline) or any content they post, upload, or share (including offensive, inappropriate, obscene, unlawful, and other objectionable content). We cannot predict when issues might arise with our products or services. Accordingly, our liability shall be limited to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, and under no circumstances will we be liable to you for any lost profit, revenues, information, or data, or consequential, special, indirect, exemplary, punitive, or incidental damages arising out of or related to these Terms or our products and services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

    • Disputes.

      We try to provide clear rules so that we can limit or hopefully avoid disputes between you and us. If a dispute does arise, however, it’s useful to know up front where it can be resolved and what laws will apply. If you are a consumer, the laws of your country in which you reside will apply to any claim, cause of action, or dispute you have against us that arises out of or relates to these Terms or the products or services, and you may resolve your claim in any competent court in your country that has jurisdiction over the claim

  • Other.

    These Terms make up the entire agreement between you and us, regarding your use of our products and services. They supersede any prior agreements.

    • If any portion of these Terms are found to be unenforceable, the remaining portion will remain in full force and effect. If we fail to enforce any of these Terms, it will not be considered a waiver. Any amendments to or waiver of these Terms must be made in writing and signed by us.

    • You will not transfer any of your rights or obligations under these Terms to anyone else without our consent.

    • You may designate a person (called a legacy contact) to manage your account if it is memorialized. Only your legacy contact or a person who you have identified in a valid will or similar document expressing clear consent to disclose your content upon death or incapacity will be able to seek disclosure from your account after it has been memorialized.

    • These Terms do not confer any third-party beneficiary rights. All of our rights and obligations under these Terms are freely assignable by us in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, or by operation of law or otherwise.

    • You should know that we may need to change the username for your account in certain circumstances (for example, if someone else claims the username and it appears unrelated to the name you use in everyday life).

    • We always appreciate your feedback and other suggestions about our products and service. But you should know that we may use them without any restrictions or obligation to compensate you, and we are under no obligation to keep them confidential.

    • We reserve all rights not expressly granted to you.


Community Standards

Our primary goal is to create a safe environment that will make it easier for families from various backgrounds and cultures to be able to post everything from text to photos and videos. We want this place to be a place for empowerment for families and keep abuse off our service. That is why we have develop a set of standards that we would love people who will be using this platform to abide by.

Safety

Safety is important in any community. We are committed to removing content that encourages real-world harm, including, but not limited to, physical, financial, and emotional injury.

Voice

Our mission is to embrace diverse cultures and views. We err on the side of allowing content, even when some find it objectionable, unless removing that content can prevent a specific harm. Moreover, at times we will allow content that might otherwise violate our standards if we feel that it is newsworthy, significant, or important to the public interest. We do this only after weighing the public interest value of the content against the risk of real-world harm.

Equity

Our policy may seem abroad, but that is because we apply them consistently and faily to a community that transcends regions, cultures and languages. As a result, our community standards can sometimes appear less nuanced that we would like, leading to an outcome that is at odds with their underlying purpose. For that reason, in some cases, and when we are provided with additional context, we make a decision based on the spirit, rather than the letter, of the policy.

Everyone on our service play a part in keeping this platform safe and respectful. We ask people to share responsibly and to let us know when they see something that may violate our community standards. We make it easy for our community to report potentially violating content, including pages, groups and profiles, comments and content for us to review. We also give people the option to block, unfollow, or hide people people and their posts, so that they can control their experience on our service.
